We have an exciting full-time remote Facilitator role in our Gray Skills program, a part of ETHOS. Gray Skills is a hybrid pre-employment program that will provide support to older workers with disabilities by combining foundational skills training and pre-employment preparation with tailored employment or self-employment training based on individual needs, ensuring that Participants receive the necessary tools and support to overcome barriers and achieve sustainable employment.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Facilitator is part of the Client Services Team. The Facilitator will develop, maintain, revise, and update the workshop curriculum on an ongoing basis. Facilitation will include group career exploration, work search, life skills, essential skills, and the training process, using recognized adult learning principles and techniques. The Facilitator will deliver information on the labour market, community resources, government programs, career development, and issues related to unemployment and provide information to workshop participants on the use of effective job search techniques, career decision-making methods, and personal management strategies. The Facilitator will also provide referral information to participants who are interested in pursuing self-employment as an employment option.
Essential Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field including education, social services, business administration, instruction, human services or adult learning
- Training in industry-recognized Employment Counselling and/or Career Coaching processes; Career Development Practitioner certification considered an asset
- Experience working with Persons with Disabilities in an employment services setting
- 3 years (preferred) or more experience in developing and facilitating employment and career workshops and programs; experience delivering curriculum to groups online
- Demonstrated experience delivering basic life skills and essential skills programs/training preferred
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, and experience delivering materials to adult learners
- Experience in coaching and mentoring clients
- Clear Criminal Record Check required as a condition of employment
- Must have access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection
- Must live on Vancouver Island
