Indigenous Commitment

We are dedicated to upholding Indigenous Nations through a commitment to the process of decolonization. We honour Indigenous ways of being and knowing through learning, understanding, and holding space for historical knowledge, traditional teachings, ceremonies, protocols, and practices.

We strive to partner and collaborate respectfully with leaders, organizations, and communities to create sustainable, equitable opportunities for mutual growth and prosperity.

Explore the First Peoples’ Map of British Columbia at First Peoples’ Map. This website features an interactive map that highlights Indigenous territories and provides context about various First Nations across the province. It includes descriptions and resources that emphasize the importance of Indigenous histories, cultures, and rights, making it a valuable resource for understanding and respecting Indigenous lands and communities.

ETHOS acknowledges the ancestral healing lands of the Indigenous people of Canada.  We recognize the impact colonization has had and continues to have on Indigenous people, their lands and their ways of being and knowing.

As guests and settlers, we recognize the people of the Quw’utsun, Snuneymuxw, Stz’uminus, Xwsepsum, Lkwungen, Niitsitapi and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations, including Chiniki, Bearpaw, and Wesley First Nations as the rightful stewards and Ancestors of the lands ETHOS serves.

ETHOS is committed to reconciliation, equity and justice in relationship with Indigenous people, their lands, waters and communities.
