We have an exciting full-time opportunity available for a Manager (one year contract with possible extension) for the Rebel Youth Entrepreneur Program. This new employment program will assist Vancouver Island youth who are interested in starting or growing their business. This is a full-time position based out of our offices in Duncan, BC, reporting the CEO.

Rebel will be delivered in a group cohort environment over 18-week sessions. The first phase of the program will include remote facilitated workshops in a variety of topics including essential skills, soft skills, and entrepreneurship basics. During the remainder of the program, participants will work one-on-one with Business Coaches to develop or update their business plans, and get ready to launch or re-launch their businesses. The Manager works with the Rebel Team to support participants in building the foundation for a sustainable business.


Program Management

The Manager will work closely with the Rebel team to ensure high quality client service delivery and successful participant outcomes. You will develop and coordinate program marketing efforts, participant intake processes, data gathering and input and create systems for developing participants’ training plans according to Provincial funder requirements. You will also be responsible for gathering and preparing monthly statistical and narrative reports. In this role, you will develop and maintain working relationships with local community organizations.


Human Resources Management

Overseeing a team of 4 employees, the Manager will provide leadership to the Rebel team overall. Frequent virtual meetings with the team are encouraged to ensure that all team members, including remote employees, are successful in their roles, and have opportunities to discuss issues. You are the main point of communication for the Rebel team with ETHOS, ensuring that policies and procedures are communicated, and the team is informed of all relevant company information. You will ensure that team members are accountable, recognizing successful performance and responding to performance issues. As the program Manager, you will foster employee growth, performance improvement and career development. You will also work with the ETHOS HR Manager to coordinate team hiring, onboarding and orientation.


Program Administration

Working closely with the Client Service Representative, the Manager will ensure that program inquiries are managed, candidate intakes are scheduled, and participant data is collected and maintained according to strict Privacy and Confidentiality requirements. You will oversee development of participant training plans and ensure progress is documented throughout program. You will closely monitor program budget, results, prescribe corrective action and provide reports as required. You will manage and authorize employee timesheets and time off requests.


Essential Qualifications and Required Skills
  • · Bachelors’ Degree or higher in Finance/Business/Administration or Management
  • 5+ years direct business management experience and/or experience as an entrepreneur
  • Recent viable business development and technical management expertise
  • Minimum 3 years experience managing and being directly accountable for the performance of a team and its members
  • Experience managing budgets and associated risk mitigation
  • Experience leading the development and implementation of program delivery and associated change management preferred
  • Experience in leading teams in employment services preferred
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating the success of strategic plans, work plans, and budgets

The pay for this position is $32/hour.
