What is Island Ops?
Island Ops is a free program designed to help Persons with Disabilities gain sustainable employment. Funding may be available for skills training, wage subsidies, adaptive equipment, and self-employment training. Island Ops is available to eligible individuals throughout Vancouver Island, the Southern Gulf Islands and the Powell River area. Island Ops is an initiative of the Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund and is delivered by ETHOS.

Supported work experience opportunities available to get you that dream job as well as potential wage subsidies available to benefit both you and the employer.
Self Employment
Job Coaching
Personalized, one-on-one coaching building on your existing skills and experience to launch you into the job market prepared and confident.
Occupational Training and Skill Resources
Tuition for short-duration training such as pre-apprenticeship, job required training, and vocational skills training *(up to 6 months). *Must be employed prior to training approval
Employers
Are you an employer looking to diversify your business and hire someone with a disability? You may be eligible to apply for wage subsidies or skills training for your new employee.
