In 2007, ETHOS completed a 6 month research project (The Career Management Connection) to identify the most effective strategies for addressing the 4 biggest issues facing employers across North America: Skills Shortages, Workforce Retention, Employee Engagement and Succession Planning. As a result of this research, ETHOS developed an Organizational Career Management (OCM) Model designed to engage employees in their work and career development, thus increasing overall productivity, as well as the Top Employers' Staffing Strategies and Tactics for Engagement Toolkit. ETHOS is currently piloting our OCM Model, both in-house and with a large local organization. The OCM Model outlines important people management practices from the hiring stage through the various stages of workforce development and provides practical information for how to address all 4 of the key issues.
